*  January 2003 to present; Part-Time Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Provide center-based speech-language therapy to children and adults with a variety of communication needs. 

 

Kennedy Krieger Institute (Baltimore, Maryland)

*  August 2002 to present; Senior SLP for Emotional/ Behavioral Disorders (EBD) Program

Provide direct clinical services to students in the EBD program.  Participate on EBD Leadership Committee at Fairmount.  Supervise other EBD SLPs.  Lead inservice trainings to staff regarding language and behavior. 

 

*  June 2000 – August 2001; SLP for Cognitive-Behavioral Remediation Program for Children with Lead Poisoning Study

Co-taught specialized reading curriculum to elementary school-aged children with lead poisoning and learning disabilities. Modified behavior plans and curriculum as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Provided service coordination for post-testing and transportation issues.  Compiled data for and participated on study writing committee.

 

*  January 2000 to present; Part-Time Per Diem SLP for Child Family Support Program

Provide home-based therapy to toddlers with language delay and special needs.  Counsel parents and caretakers regarding carryover activities and act as resource for additional information.

Evaluated and treated speech and language disorders for multi-handicapped elementary and middle school-aged children.  Devised and wrote Individualized Education Plans.  Presented progress at annual team meetings.  Participated on interdisciplinary team.  Collaborated and co-treated with other team members (e.g., occupational therapist, mental health professionals).  Conducted whole-class, language-based lessons targeting speech and language goals 4-5 times a week.

Co-taught classroom of neurologically impaired students.  Provided a language-enriched curriculum targeting each student’s speech and language IEP goals.  Conducted whole-class language-based lessons.  Updated IEP goals and performed evaluations to document progress.  Collaborated with team members to improve behavior management strategies.  Provided case management services.
